Taken from their hugely successful and well-received debut album, ‘Meaning Of Life’ is an uplifting banger from Lancashire-based indie band The Lottery Winners. The track kicks off with an anthemic, stadium-sized singalong, juxtaposed by a music video shot in a humble garage. The band avoids taking themselves too seriously in the video, letting a laid-back atmosphere and a jokey vibe appear visually as soaring synths introduce the track’s main melody line. “When you have to make a music video in your garage you have to improvise”, explains lead singer Thom. British culture and existentialism are combined lyrically, while an impressively polished sound makes the band sound like they’ve been on the scene for decades, rather than being just a few weeks past their debut album release. - Dan Peeke
